The Lost Art of Deep Listening

Event Details

PRESENTATION

Andy Roberts, Breathe Australia

Topic:     The Lost Art of Deep Listening

The lost art of deep listening: Few leaders have ever received training on listening. However, effective communication is supported by a listening-to-talking ratio of 80/20. The more senior your role, the more critical listening is to your career progress. In the session, we will explore some of the science behind listening and distraction and levels of deep listening: Understanding how your listening and communication styles impact your ability to experience a deep connection with colleagues and how to cut through noise to what other people are trying to convey. In this session, we will explore Charles Duhigg and Oscar Trimboli's work on communication.
